Someone at your school or company wants to print labels from Google Sheets with Peelstack Label Maker, and the Google Workspace Marketplace told them "This application is not allowed by your administrator." or "This application has been blocked by your administrator." This page is for the administrator who can change that. Every step below follows Google's own Google Workspace Admin Help; menu names can change, so Google's help is the final word.
First, check how your organization handles Marketplace apps
In the Google Admin console, go to Menu, Apps, Google Workspace Marketplace apps, Apps list and click User Install Settings. Under Manage access to apps you choose whether users can install any apps, only allowlisted apps, or no apps, for your whole organization or for an organizational unit or group. This needs the Google Workspace Marketplace administrator privilege. Google notes that changes can take up to 24 hours, but typically happen more quickly.
There are two ways to let people use the add-on: add it to your allowlist so they can install it themselves, or install it for them.
Option 1: add the add-on to your allowlist
The allowlist matters when users may install only allowlisted apps.
- In the Admin console, go to Menu, Apps, Google Workspace Marketplace apps, Apps list.
- Click Allowlist app.
- Search for Peelstack Label Maker and click Select next to it. You can click its name first to check that it is the right listing.
- Choose to allow the app and click Continue.
- Choose who the setting applies to (everyone, or the organizational units and groups you pick) and click Finish.
Users then find the add-on in the Marketplace under Approved for you. If you later remove it from the allowlist, users lose access to it even if they still have it installed.
Option 2: install the add-on for your users
You can install an app for users even when they are not allowed to install apps themselves. Google's help says this needs a super administrator.
- In the Admin console, go to Menu, Apps, Google Workspace Marketplace apps, Apps list.
- Click Install app, find Peelstack Label Maker in the Marketplace and click it.
- Click Admin install, then Continue. (Individual install installs it for your own administrator account only.)
- Review the data access the add-on asks for and the developer terms. Our privacy policy lists every permission and what it is used for.
- Choose Everyone at your organization, or Certain groups or organizational units and pick them, then click Finish.
If your organization uses API controls
API controls (Menu, Security, Access and data control, API controls) can limit which Google services third-party apps reach, and Google notes that they override the Marketplace allowlist. If a Google service is set to Restricted there, only apps you configure as Trusted or Specific Google data can use it, and users who try an app you have not trusted are told it is blocked. The add-on works with Google Sheets and Google Docs, and with Google Drive only for the files the add-on itself uses, such as the ones it creates; the privacy policy lists the exact permissions. If any of those services is Restricted for your users, add the add-on under Manage App Access, Configure new app. This needs the Service Settings administrator privilege.
Networks that filter web traffic
The add-on window runs in the user's browser. Besides Google Sheets and Google Docs themselves, it loads files from these hosts, so a firewall or web filter must allow them:
cdn.jsdelivr.net: the add-on window's program code (such as the PDF writer, the font engine and the QR code maker) and its fonts, pinned to exact versions and checked against integrity hashes. Without it the add-on window cannot make labels.ssl.gstatic.com: Google's standard style sheet for add-ons.
The licence check (for users who buy a paid plan) is called from Google's servers, not from the user's computer, so it needs nothing on your network. The contents of your users' sheets are never sent to us; see the privacy policy.
What your users see
- "This application is not allowed by your administrator." You limit which apps users can install and have not allowed this one.
- "This application has been blocked by your administrator." The user installed the app but it is not allowed for them, or users may not install and run any Marketplace apps.
- "The installation is disabled by your administrator." Users may not install any Marketplace apps.
- "This application was installed by your administrator." You installed it for them; only an administrator can uninstall it.
The add-on runs in Google Sheets and Google Docs on a computer, in a desktop browser. The Google Sheets and Google Docs mobile apps do not run add-ons.
